Matt Pryde, Head of Market Strategy and Planning, tells us what this newly created role does within the business.

What do you do?

My job is to make sure we create and implement the strongest commercial plans in the market that achieve our strategy, which involves working closely with the marketing, sales, category and finance teams.

What’s your thoughts on Symington’s?

I joined in the first lockdown, so I have had the pleasure of meeting the team virtually from their homes. Everyone has been great and very welcoming. As a business, what struck me straight away is the entrepreneurial spirit in the business and the speed we are able to turn ideas into solutions. 

Proud moments?

Being in my role you see all of the hard work and energy from the teams that goes on in the background, all the way from the planning through to execution – there is nothing more rewarding than seeing plans go live in our retailers.
