We are currently seeking candidates to apply for our Retort Operative vacancy based at our Consett site (DH8 7NU).

This is a full-time, permanent position with an immediate start available.

Please note that the shift pattern for both roles is as follows:

Monday to Thursday 46 hours per week (12 hours per day: 6 am to 6 pm, then 6 pm to 6 am, rotating weekly between days and nights).

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The postholder will be required to ensure that all our products are produced with the highest customer safety and quality standards, with adherence to the site’s Health and Safety protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained in all areas (operating a clean as you go mentality).
  2. To deliver performance to ensure that the company standards are met on a consistent basis.
  3. To ensure all issues encountered in production areas are reported immediately to your line manager.
  4. To develop personal skills and knowledge through self-development activities and/ or training.
  5. To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.
  6. To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by the your line manager.
  7. To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.
  8. To ensure brand integrity is maintained at all times according to business policies and procedures.  

Experience

  • Prior experience in manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
