There is a requirement to provide a “hands on” Electrical bias Lead Engineer to drive improvements to our current production efficiencies, maintenance, and improvement programs to significantly reduce our manufacturing costs.
The role will implement and share a program of opportunities including best practices, team development, personal development and supporting the Group Engineering strategy.
Also, a key requirement to drive improvements in our site H&S through effective management, training & discipline of your teams and contractors across the site.
Strong ability to manage, drive and focus the engineers to provide suitable maintenance support at all times is a pre-requisite in this expanding autonomous role.
Shift pattern - rotating Sunday – Thursday 10pm – 6am, Monday – Friday 10pm – 6am.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of engineers to maintain on site equipment, both reactive & preventative, to reduce downtime on equipment.
- Drive the engineering team to improve and better the current maintenance planning & execution system.
- Support, planning & execution of annual overhauls.
- Review downtime data and key priorities to focus engineering support.
- Develop stores and spare parts stock requirements for your area of responsibility.
- Implement a “root cause to manage failure” system – support Engineering Manager to roll out to teams.
- Lead shift hand over meetings and shift reports.
- Deliver team briefs and business reports.
- Provide stand-in support for Site Engineering Manager.
- Lead external audit visits through the breakdown procedure & guidance of Planned Maintenance.
- Hands on engineering breakdown support.
- Support the engineering budget through delivering cost effective maintenance.
- Drive Capital improvement programs through exposing opportunities, cost / benefit analysis reports, requests for cash and implementation.
- H&S Champion always ensuring safe working of your team & others.
- Contractor management & Permit issue management

Skills, experience –
- Strong knowledge of working with single phase & three phase systems.
- Competent in electrical fault finding in panels, 3 phase motors, inverters, relays, contactors.
- Basic fault-finding knowledge of PLC's.
- Good mechanical skills - knowledge of pneumatics, bearings, gearboxes.
